Yet the pleasure we partake in; was caused by the fanged grin

My random thoughts of the day

DISCLAIMER: These thoughts of mine are not to be taken seriously. At all. I’m mad.

Risingson is a song by Massive Attack with Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall on vocals. The beat is really trippy and seductive, slow and sexy all the same. You must watch this one — it’s really good. Amazing, really.

For now, in my books: (though my perspective is rather slanted and I probably don’t even know what I’m saying)

MASSIVE ATTACK >>>>> OASIS

On KidsCentral there was this Science show “stupid science stunts” at 3.30pm called Scien-trific! Its really awesome and funny. I recommend watching this one. It’s on Mondays only I think yeah. There was this one part of the show called “Stupidman” and the detectives who spoke in posh accents said this:

“Oh look! Is it a twit? Is it a twerp? No, it’s STUPIDMAN!”

LOL shit its one of the funniest things in this dreary silly academic O Level year-life. Whatever.

There is this East View 20th anniversary dinner thing at some posh country club and in order to attend we must pay $50. The hell am I going. What kind of anniversary is that? It is pretty silly to ask STUDENTS to pay $50 in order for them to attend some stupid event which the organisers will forget the next day the dinner is over… you know what I mean? And there’s no prom night after O Levels for us graduating pupils. Oh, does that signify your ingratitude to us students? LOL why the hell am I complaining anyway. The place is a shithole… and I’d be glad to leave the place to achieve my dreams in some other better, more condusive environment than this school.

I’d even go the extent and would say to my future children (if I ever) NEVER to consider my current school to be their scondary school choice.

TO HELL WITH “SCHOOL PATRIOTISM” AND SHIT!

But then again, this is my bitterness speaking. I’m tired of studying! I want to be given the time to write down my crazy story ideas! I want to be able to reach my dreams in other ways other than O Levels. But in Singapore you cannot go anywhere with no O Levels. I want many things but sometimes it feels “asphyxiating”.

To quote Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys: (The song is “This House Is A Circus”)

This house is a circus berserk as fuck
We tend to see that as a perk though,
look
What it’s done to your friends
Their memories are pretend
And the last thing that they want is for the feeling to end

Replace “house” with “school”

A random part of the song I like:

Forever unfulfilled
And can’t think why
Like a seach for murder clues
In dead men’s eyes

I love the last two lines and don’t know why. :)

About Fan Fiction Recommendations

Filed under: Cheerful Dirge, blog, fan fiction, fanfiction

My weblog is/was never meant to be a public site meant to publicise fan fiction written by fan fiction writers et cetera. I’m also sick and tired of people leeching my links from my page here and not showing gratitude for me, who has painfully compiled some of the links I’ve accumulated over the years. I don’t see the reason why you can’t leave an itty bitty thank you comment on that page once you’ve used the links. I’m sure the authors of the stories in my links page would be happy to be redirected to my links page and see praises and comments from people who appreciate their stories. I for one can take this unappreciation no more. So forgive me if I want to swear, curse and rant at you damned people.

So, in a step taken to reduce this unappreciation I decided to make the password tougher. I’m sure if you are a respectable fan you’d know this one. I will not reveal the password here. What do you think I am, a stupid fool? By the way, kudos for the majority of you (i.e. 20 for today, 21 for yesterday) who have figured out the last password was. Yes, it was Lestat de Lioncourt. Not very difficult to figure out. Now the latest password is far more tougher. Hm, what am I doing, a little trivia for Anne Rice fans, in order for them to read some other fan’s fictions?

The reasons behind my password-protecting that page may be entirely selfish. But this is my blog and I can do whatever I want with it. I password-protect it so that only I can view it… for my own selfish reasons. Oh, you can only imagine the kind of stories I have archived there. Little love stories with the pairings you can only visualise… and that I can visualise with the words themselves. See? I am taunting you. Taunt me in return then, say whatever you like, your meaningless words won’t tear my tattered little heart, or whatever.

After all this is the internet world where you can be a sweet, good natured person online whilst talking to your “internet friends”  and be a total ugly monster in real life. In the internet as well you are granted the pleasure of leaving this page and going to some other website.

And I quote someone wiser than I:

“It is remarkably easy, especially on the Internet, to just click once or twice and be done with the whole affair! Just think of it! In realtime face-to-face conversations or locations, it isn’t always as easy as walking away, wouldn’t you agree? There’s that awkwardness where you look down and around and shuffle your feet because you’re uncomfortable and you’d like nothing better than to be somewhere else that brings you a smile instead of the feeling that you could list any number of things wrong with your current position. Online it isn’t so! It’s amazingly simple really.”

Can you not agree wholeheartedly with that?

So start commenting properly and appreciate my links, for God’s sakes. Otherwise, leave. I will not suffer some death if you decide not to come and view my links any more. The main purpose of me starting this blog was not to gain publicity, after all.

If you really, desperately want access to that page email me for the damned password.

My favourite scene from OotP

Fat ass imeem link

This is the scene from OotP where Harry and his friends bump into Lucius in the Hall of Prophecies. And, better still, this is the scene where Lucius waves his wand and his Death Eater mask dissipates away to leave his gorgeousness (and blond hair!!!).

I’ve only watched it ten times! *drools furiously*

The start of the monsoon season in Singapore is one of the most awesome things that’s happened around here. The rain was not falling so heavily so I abandoned my portable umbrella to walk in the rain. I love the feeling of the rain hitting my face and hair lightly. It’s so therapeutic and calming. An oasis in the midst of my own burning unsheltered desert.

Music piece of the day

Theatre of Tragedy – A Hamlet for a Slothful Vassal

“Behold a jocund morn indeed! -
Sun on high – birds in sky.
Yonder the whist firth eathing,
Fro where a gale erranteth.”

“Ye beholdest but the shadow.
Mayhap a tithe of trothplight -
I deep – e’er and anon!”

“To and fro, save hither,
Is thy love.”

“Not a loth! -
But vying for my kinsmen!”

“Beautiful tyrant!
Fiend Angelica!
Dove-feathered raven!
Woluish-ravening lamb!
A hamlet for a slothful vassal -
Soothing ale for a parched sot.
Hie to tell me
What ye judgest as naught
I behold the shadow!”

“E’er thou sayest aye!
Thief of a plot!
Now go to thy tryst!
Go, leave, totter! -
Until ye dwindlest.
A morsel, nay more,
For thy journey
Hither and thither!”

“That is a lie!
Lief I am not!
My words are but a twist
Fare well! – with jiy I came,
With rue I leave.
Even the orb cannot.
Help me melt the ice?”

“That is a lie!
Lief I am not!
My words are but a twist
Tis a feigned lie through loathing,
I say!”

“A dotard gaffer, I daresay…”

“…a sapling not!”

“Wherefore call me such names;
Nay imp am I!
Thou art my aghast hart -
Gazing in the glade.”

Here’s my interpretation of this very confusing song:

It is a sunny and beautiful day. Somewhere, a married couple (“trothplight”) have a big misunderstanding (“a gale erranteth”). The man thinks his wife is cheating on him with the “kinsmen”. He calls her a “beautiful tyrant” and a “fiend”. He claims to have proof of her being unfaithful. She denies it — “That is a lie! Lief I am not!” She abhors her husband’s suspicions and name-calling — “imp”. So, she decides to leave him. She sighs and feels as if “even the orb cannot help me melt the ice” and her resistance to his suspicions is futile.

:D

So I’m feeling very bright and sunny (even though it’s night :D) as there is another showing of Queen of the Damned on Channel 5 at 10pm. I’m excited! :D
